I'd like to add Kafila on to the recomended list, I've been using them for the last year or so for home delivery in the south of Milton Keynes, and found the quality of the food consistant,i've been ordering Onion Bhaji or Spicey Chicken Tikka as a starter the main has been Lamb Vindaloo (with potatoe) mushroom bhaji and Bombay Aloo
The food hits the spot its not fancy but honest, also they run a loyalty card scheme, after 5 meals 6 meal is free up to 12 pounds.

It still does not hit the mark of Far Cotton Tandoori Northampton but I don't think anytghing in Milton Keynes will

But I rate Kafila a 8

you really should visit the Maharajah again. nice refit and has improved vastly. i whole heartedly agree with your opinion of the balti king in the mounts. we're trying our first naga from tamarind tomorrow. looking forward to it very much. keep up the great work, this site is excellent.

Ken of Stony Straford is quite right to be miffed with Indigo. In fact, it is a requirement of every licensed establishment to clearly display the prices of their alcoholic drinks so I would suggest he contacts Trading Standards and reports the shysters.

I have been reading the reviews of the Silk Route restaurant in Sol Central and am astounded by the high ratings. A friend and I went for lunch the other day and I can honestly say I have never eaten such poor quality Indian food. Firstly, we ordered two pints of Coke which we were not informed was almost undrinkable Virgin cola and for which we were later outraged to find we had been stung £3 each for! Next arrived the poppadums which were mini ones out of a packet. these would have been unpleasant enough if it weren't for the glutinous, sweet and totally inedible chutneys which accompanied them. I'm sure that the starters would be more substantial of an evening but I am just glad i did not pay full price for the samples that we had of uninspiring blandness. The main meals that my friend and I shared were in a similar, if not identical, generic-supermarket's-own-tasting sauce which was by no means fresh. The one thing that set the sauces apart was the addition of pickled onions (yes, actual silver-skin onions!) to one of the sauces. I can only say that this was dreadfully ill-conceived. Considering the fact that we had to keep our coats on as it was so cold and that the waiter was clearly put out when we requested a lunch menu, this was overall a dire experience and I would advise people to avoid it at all cost.
