Guest review
by Steve Bannister, Northampton

We ordered a takeaway for 4 people last Monday, and sure enough it was ready when we arrived to collect it. The waiter felt the contents of the bag to count it contained the correct number of boxes, proudly said they'd thrown in some extras, and all seemed well at this point.

When we got to my friend's house and removed the items from the bag, things weren't so good. We'd ordered 3 portions of onion bhajis, but only 2 were supplied. The salad consisted of one small paper plate covered in cling film, containing old yellowing lettuce and a single slice of tomato. The mint sauce came in a couple of individual sized pots, but each was only half full. This might be the season of Christmas spirit but Scrooge was well and truly in control of their portion control that night!

The starters themselves weren't great, they were clearly re-heated from being made on a previous day. The main courses were better, at least the chicken was very tender even if the sauces didn't live up to their descriptions.

As for the freebies, these were a couple of broken popadoms and some cold tasteless bombay potato.

Steve rated this 4 out of 10.
