We visited the New Bekash on Sunday 30th July 2006 after finding out about it on this site - perfect for a night out after spending the day at Silverstone!

The restaurant was clean & tidy, nice atmosphere - even proper napkins! Staff were immediately friendly and efficient. The menu had such a wide choice it took us a while to make our decision!

We started with popadoms and a pickle tray. And a good pickle tray it was - always a promising start to a meal!

We chose king prawn puree and a mix starter for our first course. The puree was nice, well spiced and not oily as sometimes they can be. The mix starter had tender chicken tikka, fresh onion bhaji and a moist sheek kebab. We enjoyed the starters and couldn't fault them.

For our main course we ordered chicken lilly and a prawn bhuna. We also ordered side dishes - bindi bhajee and sag paneer. Every dish was very different - and every dish was tasty. The chicken lilly was worth a special mention as an unusual but tasty dish.

We washed all this down with a nice bottle of Chablis and diet coke (not mixed)!

Without hesitation, the New Bekash is worth a visit. We'll be going back in March, next time we are at the Silverstone circuit. It really felt like a proper dining out experience due to the quality of the food, the quiet but relaxing ambience and the friendly and efficient staff.

Thanks to onionbhaji for pointing us in the right direction!
